Ralph William Berglund, age 93, of Lindstrom, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior after a short illness on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming.
Ralph was born July 17, 1924, in Center City to Peter and Ellen (Ingelson) Berglund. He graduated from Union Free High School in Clear Lake, WI on May 28, 1942. Ralph then served in combat at the Battle of the Bulge in WWII.
After his Army service ended, Ralph went to work at Security State Bank of Lindstrom in 1948. He retired in 1983 after 35 years.
Ralph was united in marriage to Anna Mae Gustafson on August 9, 1952, at Kost Evangelical Free Church in rural North Branch, where they are still members. He served the Lord in many capacities there, as well as on the Evangelical Free Church National Missions Board.
Ralph was a member of the American Legion Post 83, the Ki Chi Saga Swedish Club, and served on the Chisago Lakes Hospital Board from 1962 until its closing and the advisory board for Trinity University in Chicago, IL.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myrtle Berglund of Lindstrom and brother, Philip Berglund of Vancouver, WA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Anna Mae Berglund; a sister, Doris Seekins of Vancouver, WA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Service was Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Kost Evangelical Free Church in rural North Branch. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment in the Kost Cemetery. Arrangements are with Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom. Memorials are preferred to the Kost Evangelical Free Church.
