Juanita Mae Perry, age 86, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Amery Memory Care. Juanita was the eldest of 13 children. She was born on April 15, 1931 to Neil and Lillian Elwood and the mother to 11 children; Gloria (Ron) Butterfield; Susan Newell; Thomas, Mitch (Judy), Lynn (Bruce) Erickson; Vicky (Harlen) Korynta, Mark, Randy, Lance (Cathy), Stephen, Lisa (Paul) Jensen.
Preceded in death by her husband Eldon; sons, Thomas and Mark; son-in-law James Larsin; grandsons, Christopher Lifgren and Cory Perry and great-grandson Landon Erickson.
Juanita had a long and loving marriage to Eldon until his death in 2004. Her other love was telling all she met that she was the mother of 11 children, grandmother to 27 and had 49 great grandchildren.
Her occupation in life was homemaker and caregiver. Her interests were many; travel, gardening, reading, dancing, Polka Fests, cooking and baking. You could count on finding relatives and friends at her table for a bowl of soup, coffee and cookies.
She kept a warm, welcoming home. She was adventurous, willing and eager for any experience.
She was “Queen Mother” of the Perry girl Ya Ya sisterhood. A fall adventure of long weekends spent with daughters and daughters in-laws participating in trips, adventures, ceremonies, games and four-wheeling in the woods of Northern Minnesota well in to her 80’s.
Alzheimers took her from us years ago, but her spirit and memories will last forever.
We love you mom!
