Jack Arthur Bestul, age 74, of Shafer, MN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the Estates at Greeley in Stillwater, MN.
Jack Bestul was born on October 26, 1945 to Arthur and Marian (Christlieb) Bestul in Bagley, MN. Jack graduated from Detroit Lakes High School, class of 1963.  He served in the US Army as a cook from 1963-1966, serving part of his duty on the Korean DMZ.  On March 10th, 1973, Jack was united in marriage to LaVayne Thompson in Lindstrom, MN. This marriage was blessed with two children, Terrence and Tracy. Jack was employed with Onan/Cummins as a paralleling switch gear assembler for over 41 years, retiring in 2007. Jack enjoyed putzing around in the yard, his classic cars and his vast circle of fellow enthusiasts, fishing, NASCAR, Minnesota Twins, and playing card games. You could find him every Tuesday with the “breakfast club” at the Swedish Inn in Lindstrom and “Thirsty Thursday” lunch at The Northern Lake Tavern and Grill. He will be dearly missed by many.

Jack is survived by his wife of 47 years LaVayne; daughter Tracy (Landon) Krona, brother Dale Bestul; many beloved family members and special friends.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Elaine Bestul; son Terrence and sisters, Marrianne Schwengler and Jeannette Bestul.
A special thanks to Fairview Lakes Hospice and The Estates at Greeley for their loving care.
