Darlene 'Dar' Mary Ganley
Darlene "Dar" Mary Ganley, 87, died May 15 on her farm in Lindstrom, MN with her family and devoted dogs by her side.
Dar was born Sept. 26, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN to Archie and Margaret (Mensies) Hill. She graduated Roosevelt High School and started her career with MaBell as a switch board operator. Dar retired 30 years later from the company as a Sales Division Supervisor.
On December 30, 1961 Dar married the love of her life Gene Ganley. Two years later they purchased their dream farm in Lindstrom with her son Allyn. They raised some of the best Hereford cattle in the state. Dar loved her slice of heaven and all the animals they raised on it, along with their devoted Border Collies.
Dar spent her time enjoying gardening, playing piano, dancing, traveling across the USA and other countries, rodeos and sponsoring NFR Queen contestants, cooking, snowmobiling and water skiing.
After retirement she would spend her days going for walks with her dogs, bird watching, eating turtle sundaes and always ready for an adventure.
Dar is preceded in death by her parents Archie and Margaret, her son Allyn and beloved husband, Gene of 54 years.
Dar is survived by her step-sons; James (Carol), Bill and Terry; grandchildren, April, Amy (Bryan), Jesse (Shelley), Jamie, Justin (Jessica), Amber, Misty and Anna; 18 great grand children, two great great grandchildren and special family friend Chris Gray and many more friends and neighbors.
Dar 's quick wit and funny sayings will be missed by all.
