Janet Elizabeth (Hanson) Froberg, age 87, of Center City, Minnesota, died peacefully on September 2, 2021. She grew up in Chisago City, MN, and graduated from Chisago City High School in 1952, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Metro State and a Master’s Degree from St. Thomas University. As a registered nurse, her career included work in anesthesia, coronary care, emergency, IV-oncology, home health and hospice care. She did extensive work with Hmong resettlement and Indian Health Services. Janet loved her dogs and her flower gardens. She was an avid reader, writer, and piano-player. She enjoyed teaching English as a second language and serving at church.
Janet is survived by her loving husband Jim Froberg of 66 years, daughter Brenda (Joel) Legred, son Richard (Jody) Froberg, and son-in-law Mark Nordby; grandchildren Jamie, Mandy, and Noah Froberg, Hannah and Gabe Nordby, and Heather (Zach) Jelinek; and great-grandchild Vera Jelinek.
She is preceded in death by daughter Betsy Nordby, brothers Robert and Richard Hanson, sister Joan Lackore, and step-brothers Jim and Tom Hanson.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. A private interment will be held in the
