Romelle Rose Cable (Faulkner) a long time Lindstrom resident, passed away October 29 surrounded by her loving family.
Romelle was born on October 12, 1933 on her parent’s farm in rural Juneau County Wisconsin. She was the third child of William Ray Faulkner and Pauline Elizabeth (Andrews) Faulkner.
Shortly after high school she would meet her future husband of 69 years, when he took his first pastorate at Bethel Baptist Church in rural Camp Douglas. George and Romelle were married on August 16, 1952. They had two children Amy Jo Shuster (Jerry) and Kenneth Cable (Maureen).
Romelle was struck with polio in 1956. Her body was handicapped for the rest of her life but her spirit never was. Overcoming all limitations she was appointed by Governor Arne Carlson to two terms on the Minnesota State Council on disabilities.
Romelle had a great love for children and served in the nurseries of many churches and founded the school library at Chisago Lakes Baptist.
She is survived by her two children, Amy Jo Cable Shuster (Jerry), Ken Cable (Maureen), four grandchildren; Kristie McNamara (Ryan), Jeffrey Cable (Krystal), Jennifer Shuster and Elizabeth Shuster; four great grandchildren Michael, Kenlly and Griffin Cable and Keegan McNamara, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, sister Gladys Bellor, her brother Willie, nephew Donnie and niece Pauline Bellor, and nephew Mike Mohler.
Visitation will be at Sunrise Bible Church with visitation at 10 a.m. on November 5 with a service at 11 a.m.
