Betty Berglund

Betty Ann (Hendricks) Berglund (82) peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 13 at Fairview Hospital in Wyoming, MN.

Betty was born August 29, 1939 to Guy and Agnes (Koland) Hendricks. She was the eldest of four children. She enjoyed working on the family farm until she graduated.  She married Ralph Berglund in 1958. They lived in multiple  communities in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. They raised three children, Randy (Debby) Berglund, Rodney (Debbie) Berglund, and Deannah (Edward) Muha.

Betty will be remembered for her energy and lively spirit; as an active member of multiple churches over her life, school PTO’s, and in multiple community ventures serving in whatever area was needed. Recently, she volunteered extensively at the Pine City Historical Society’s Askov Museum. She enjoyed decorating, water color painting, and was known for her immense hospitality. She also was very musical; playing her piano every chance she had.

Betty spent over 40 years being an integral part of a ServiceMaster MasterFranchise business in Duluth, MN before she and Ralph retired to the community they both grew up in, east of Sandstone, MN.

After Ralph’s passing, she moved to Chisago City, MN where she became CEO of her daughter and son-in-law’s restaurant using her hospitality skills. She also adventured and traveled as much as she could on mission trips including Haiti, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Texas and North Carolina over the last five years.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Berglund and her son Rodney Berglund. She is survived by her sister Mary (Hendricks) Berger, brother Edgar (Pam) Hendricks, son Randy (Debby) Berglund, daughter-in-law Debbie Berglund, daughter Deannah (Edward) Muha, 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with many nephews and nieces. She loved and took time for them all.

Funeral Services will be held at Lakes Free Church in Lindstrom Sunday, November 21 at 3 p.m. with one hour visitation prior. Private burial at Danforth Cemetery, Danforth, MN.
