Judy Lindahl

Judy Marie Lindahl, of Lindstrom, Minnesota passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Judy was born July 4, 1947 to Martin and Ruby Mattson of rural Almelund, MN. She grew up on a dairy farm up on Amador hill, along with her sisters, Sandy and Maureen. The family were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Almelund where she was confirmed and married. She attended Almelund Elementary school, which is now a museum, and then went on to graduate from North Branch High School in 1965. While working at Prudential in Minneapolis she met her future husband Larry, a dairy farmer from Lindstrom. They raised a family and farmed together for 50 years. They were members of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church where Judy was active and volunteered many service hours. She also volunteered as a leader for her children’s Excelsior 4-H club. Judy and Larry spent lots of time watching the children participate in cattle shows. They met many good friends through the 4-H program and farming through the years.

Judy enjoyed learning about her and Larry’s ancestry as both were 100 percent Swedish. She taught her kids and grandchildren how to make many Swedish treats. Always generous in spirit she enjoyed sharing the bounty of her garden with family and friends. Judy loved to bake, sew (she taught many of her granddaughters to sew), crochet and spent time with her children, grandchildren, sisters, other relatives and friends.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents Martin and Ruby Mattson, and husband of 50 years, Larry; She is survived by her children; sons Dan (Jeri) and Kevin; daughter Amy (Gary); grandchildren Ethan, Alexa, Dylan, Madelin, Isabelle, Isaac, Jacob, Ruby, Julia, Grace; sisters Sandy (Jim) and Maureen; sister-in-law Mary (Ron) and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services are arranged for 2 pm, Saturday November 27, 2021 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City, Minnesota.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service at church and fellowship from 3-5 p.m. at church.   Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Center City, MN. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.grandstrandfh.com
