Kathryn Earnest, resident of Parmly on the Lake, Chisago City, MN and formerly of Lindstrom, MN passed away on March 24, 2022 at the age of 81 years.
Kathryn was born on August 24, 1940, to Christine and Clem Dziengel on the farm in Argyle, MN. She grew up on the family farm near Kennedy, MN.
She graduated from Kennedy Public School in 1958. She went on to attend school in Crookston, MN for an LPN degree. She practiced nursing in Hallock and Thief River Falls, MN. She then went on to attend Moorhead State University, Moorhead, MN to complete a four year degree. She interned at Midway Hospital in St. Paul, MN as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, where she retired.
Kathryn enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking. She was a 4-H member and enjoyed showing her projects at the county fair. This lead to exhibiting at the Minnesota State Fair winning many Grand Champion Ribbons. She held the title of the “Pickle Lady” after she won the Gedney Pickle award for her Baby Baby Dills.
She is survived by son Thomas (Marlene) Dowdle, Kennedy, MN; sister Carroll Nelson, Mesa, AZ; brother Roger (Judy) Dziengel, Kennedy, MN; grandchildren, Angela, Andy, Aaron, Alicia and Alex; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by husband Michael Earnest; parents, Christine and Clem Dziengel.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wed. April 6 with visitation one hour prior at Church of St. Peter, 1250, South Shore Dr., Forest Lake. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.
