Sherrill Swenson

Sherrill Jane Swenson (Frisk) of Center City passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Parmly on the Lake at the age of 83, after stroke complications.

Sherrill was born September 16, 1938 in Alexandria, MN. She grew up in Roseville with her parents Carl and Jane Frisk, four sisters and one brother. She met her husband Dick Swenson at the local dance hall and that was the start of the best love story ever told.

Sherrill and Dick raised their four boys primarily in Mahtomedi then moved to the Center City area in the early 80’s where they attended to the many animals on their hobby farm. Sherrill loved to garden, make people laugh, play with Emalee (yorkie), shop with her best friend and sister Linda, spend time with family and cook. She was excellent at all of the above. Sherrill was a strong, witty, and determined woman. She remained in her home that she and Dick built even after his death in 2015. She even learned how to drive a Polaris Ranger at the age of 80!  And YES she did drive fast.

Special thanks to the St. Croix Hospital and Parmly during her brief stay at both. She was cared for and treated with nothing but dignity and grace.
Sherrill is preceded in death by husband Richard Swenson, son Mitch Swenson, son Mike Swenson, daughter-in-law Jan Swenson and young brother Tommy Frisk.

Sherrill is survived by her two sons: Mark Swenson (Terri) and Matt Swenson (Trish); seven grandchildren: Hannah Edblad (Clark), Haley Hoefler (Joe), Ali Hollister (Jeff), Andy Swenson (Leah), Adam Swenson (Sam), Jenny Swenson (Brent), and Kyle Swenson; 10 great-grandchildren with two on the way. She is also survived by her sisters: Linda Awe (Jim), Jane Wirrer (Steve), Barb Shultz (Gene), and Judy Weeks (Gary); brother-in-law Jim Swenson (Cheryl) and sister-in-law Peggy Bergquist (Chuck).

A visitation will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10am, followed by a church service and burial at 11am.  Interment will be at the Almelund Cemetery.  Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.grandstrandfh.com
