Leonard "Ken" Nelson

Leonard Einar Nelson, age 88, of Osceola, Wisconsin, passed away, surrounded by family on Monday, October 10, 2022 at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center, St. Croix Falls, WI.

Ken was born on August 1, 1934 to Einar and Minnie (Olson) Nelson in St. Paul, Minnesota. He attend Harding High School in St. Paul, MN. In February 1952, Ken joined the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in February 1956.

 At the age of five, his parents sent him to music school to learn to play the accordion. Through the years, his musical talents lead him to become a phenomenal musician, playing all sorts of instruments. He also taught others to play music. Ken had a recording studio in his basement, where he recorded many albums for others. He even wrote and recorded “The Love of My Woman” for his wife.     

In 1975, he purchased Ken’s Keyboard in East Farmington WI, which his son still runs today.

Ken loved music, riding motorcycle and his wife. Family would say anywhere he went, he touched them in some way. He was the most giving person. He will be dearly missed by many.

Ken is preceded in death by his wife, Joan, son; Jon; granddaughter, Cassie Malueg; parents, Einar and Minnie and sister, Geraldine Trooien.

Ken is survived by his sons; Ken (Teresa), Dan and Don (Brenda); grandchildren, Steven, Tanner, Jayden, Tony, Devon and Tiffany Nelson, Ally Malueg, Kelsey, Bailey and Marshall (Kaya) Wick; many great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Earl Mork and Ozzie Trooien; sister-in-law, Audrey (Paul) Arndt; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Grandstrand Funeral Home, Osceola, WI. Condolences may be expressed online at www. grandstrandfh.com.
