Lyle E. Ramberg, of North Branch passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at M Health Fairview Hospital in Wyoming at the age of 82.
Lyle was born on January 16, 1940 in Harris to parents, Henry and Julia (Wredberg) Ramberg of Harris. He was the 10th child of a large family of 13 children. He attended schools in Harris and North Branch. On April 1, 1957 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served four years, some of which were in France and Germany where he was a Military Police Officer and very proud of being a veteran. He received his GED while in the service.
Lyle was discharged in March 1961 and returned home from the France.
That spring he met Carol Erickson and they married in March of 1962. Their first daughter, Vicki was born and two years later their second daughter Teresa. Lyle became a bricklayer after two years of night classes and on the job training. He worked for several different companies but preferred building fireplaces. When Teresa was six years old they had a son, Jeff. The family moved into a larger home and lived there for 45 years before Lyle and Carol moved into their townhome in North Branch seven years ago.
Lyle lived at home until two days before his death. He was transported to the hospital November 22nd and passed away on November 23rd with family at his side.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Vicki (Greg) Barsness of Forest Lake, Teresa (Alan) Scherer of Plymouth and Jeff (Stephanie) Ramberg of Sartell; his six grandchildren, Lacee (Cory) Reynolds of Maple Grove, Megan (Jason) Losey of Plymouth, Karissa Barsness and fiancé Mike Zavadi of Columbia Heights, Tanner Barsness of Forest Lake and Nick and Nathan Ramberg of Sartell; his two great grandchildren, Crew Reynolds and Jaxson Losey. He is also survived by his siblings, Donna Lind of Cambridge, Katherine Anderson of Pine City, Russ (Judy) Ramberg of North Branch and sister in law, Sharon Ramberg of North Branch. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Julia Ramberg; siblings, Alllen Ramberg, Violet Lueth, Carroll Ramberg, Donald Ramberg, Joyce Anderson, Betty Krysinski, Jon Ramberg, Gladys Falk and Marvin Ramberg.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Family interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Harris at a later date.
