Joyce Janet Davis was born to parents Albert and Daisy Davis on December 29, 1940 at her grandparent’s ranch in Boyera, Lincoln County, Colorado. She was one of eight children and had two stepbrothers. From all the stories told, she and her siblings were quite the adventurous bunch and spent a lot of time at the roller rink, and on their bikes.
She married Leander George Hiltner in 1958 and moved to Scandia, MN. They had three children. LaDema Jean Hawkinson (John), Vickie Jo Peterson (Douglas) and Randy Lee Hiltner (Jean). They divorced and Joyce married Harold Richard Peterson in 1972. They lived on a dairy farm in Shafer MN and had two children. Tracie Lynn Robinson (Duke Grider) and Kenny Lee Peterson (Alison). They relocated to Lebanon MO in 1979 in search of better weather for farming and bought a small farm. They divorced and Joyce found her soulmate, the love of her life, William (Bill) McGlothlin. They were happily married in 1986 and lived in Sleeper MO. Their time together was cut short when Bill died in 1999. Joyce remained in Sleeper MO until 2018 with her new companion, a very special little Yorkie pup, she named KP.
In 2019 she moved back to Minnesota and lived out the remainder of her life with her daughter LaDema (John) Hawkinson, in Chisago City until she went to be with Jesus on March 4, 2023.
When younger, Joyce helped with all aspects of farming and worked at a Rest Home. While living in Scandia she work for a short time at Whirlpool, in St Paul, MN. In Missouri. she assisted many as a private home aide. Most of her years she was homemaker for all of her children and helped with a grandchild as needed. Joyce and Bill loved the outdoors and spent countless hours, fishing, hunting and gardening. She loved planting and nurturing all her beautiful flowers and loved watching the birds! She enjoyed cooking and was good at it. Her greatest love was that for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with her family, friends and her companion KP. She was willing to do anything for anyone at any time! Now after all these years, she will be happily reunited with Bill and those that left before her.
