Helen L. Klein, age 82, of Rush City and formerly of North Branch and Lindstrom passed away June 7, 2021 when the Angels called home another of God’s children.

Andrew Marier

Andrew Eugene Marier, born July 22, 1928, passed away unexpectedly June 9, 2021 from natural causes. Preceded in death by wife of almost 60 years, Marjorie, on September 11, 2008. Andy worked at Land O’Lakes for 36 years.  He hauled livestock to the stockyard in South St. Paul for local farmers.  After retiring from Land O’Lakes, he drove school bus for a few years for Chisago Lakes Schools. He donated blood for many years to the Red Cross, then was a volunteer driver for them when he could no longer donate. He was an avid gardener, many in the community benefitted from the fresh produce from his many gardens, as did the food shelf.

Donald J. Drum passed away on June 1, 2021 at the age of 74, while in Hospice at Birchwood Care Center in Forest Lake, MN.  Donald leaves behind his special friend of many years, Sharon Dontje-Yell.  He is also survived by his sister, Vernita (Dale) Kennen and a daughter, Christine Drum.

Kurt Storch
Kurt Charles Storch (Chuck to friends and family) was a 1974 graduate of Sabino High School in Tucson, Arizona, where he was born, and attended Northern Arizona University. Chuck spent his childhood summers in Boone, Iowa on his Nana Parkers farm and in Coronado, California with his Nana Re and Papa Kurt. He loved to go deep-sea fishing with his Dad, Kurt Eric Storch, and friends, and also loved to play golf.

Vern Mollan, May 15, 1930 - April 21, 2021,  passed away at his home on April 21, 2021, surrounded by family and song. Born May 15, 1930 in Duluth, Minnesota to Emil and Amanda (Stordahl) Mollan, Vern grew up in South Minneapolis, graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1948 and served in the Naval Reserves. In 1950 he was named Apprentice Of The Year by Dunwoody Industrial Institute. In his acceptance speech he said, “Always finish a job. The second half may be more important than the first.” Vern’s career grew from electrician (I.B.E.W.), to estimator, to project manager for several electrical firms.

Roger Hagstrom
Roger James Hagstrom was born October 26, 1929 to Theodore and Esther (Gustafson) Hagstrom. He graduated from Lindstrom-Center City High School in 1947. He later joined the Army and was stationed in Greenland. After his discharge, he attended St Cloud State University, where he played baseball and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Rita, and they were blessed with six children. His first teaching job was in Baudette, MN, where he taught and coached and made many friends. They then moved to Pine City, where he taught 8th grade Geography and then later Senior High Physical Education.

Richard Dale Hoogheem, age 74, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on April 13, 2021 following a 22 year battle with cancer. Rich was born June 28, 1946 in Willmar, MN to Dick and Elsie Hoogheem. The family later moved to St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood where Rich and his sister, Janet, were raised. After graduating from Wilson High School in 1964, Rich was drafted during the Vietnam war, completed basic training at US Army Training Center Fort Leonard Hood, Missouri and was stationed in Schweinfurt Germany. While on a short leave, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Bailey, on his birthday in 1967.
