Marvin was born to parents Carl and Estella August 12, 1930 in Lindstrom, Minnesota. He graduated from Chi-Hi High School in 1948 and he married Beatrice Carlson June 16, 1951. Together they had two sons and operated a third generation family farm for over 40 years. Marvin served many organizations including the Chisago County Fair Board, Farm Bureau, School Board, and was a lifelong member of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church.
Marvin enjoyed fishing, inventing, and following the local professional and high school sports teams. As quite a handyman, he could repair anything using duct tape, rubber bands, glue, and vice grip pliers.
Marvin is survived by his wife Beatrice; sons David (Joyce) Nelson and Donald (Rita) Nelson; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Vernon Lundberg.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City with Rev. Craig Lundstad-Vogt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. A private interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
