PROHIBITED EXCESSIVE VEHICLE NOISE ORDINANCE
INCLUDING NOISE FROM TRUCKS USING ENGINE RETARDING BRAKES, AND
ADOPTING BY REFERENCE MINNESOTA STATUTES
SECTIONS 169.69 AND 169.693 AND MINNESOTA RULES PARTS 7030.1000 TO 7030.1050

The Board of Supervisors for the Town of Sunrise, Chisago County, Minnesota, hereby ordains that on the 19th day of January 2023, the Sunrise Township Board of Supervisors adopted the above Ordinance.  Due to the lengthy content of the Ordinance, a brief Summary follows:

Section 1:    Definitions -- Clarifies language used in the Ordinance.

Section 2:    Prohibited Acts – Identifies acts prohibited by this Ordinance.

Section 3:    Motor Vehicle Noise Limits – Incorporates by reference certain Minnesota Statutes
                    and Rules.

Section 4:    Signage.  Provides that the Township may install “Vehicle Noise Laws Enforced” signs.

Section 5:    Penalty –Consequences for violation of this Ordinance.

Section 6:    Severability -- Validity of the Ordinance should a provision be declared invalid.

Section 7:    Effective Date -- Effective date of Ordinance.
