Gregg was born Oct. 3, 1946, in St. Paul, Minn. He grew up in Lindstrom and graduated from Lindstrom (Chi-High) High School in 1964. He earned a Business BA at Gustavus Adolphus College, in St. Peter, in 1968. His career took him from Minnesota to Utah to Connecticut, as manager for Travelers Insurance Company for 30 years. Before his death he was manager of Consumer Affairs and Health Information for Hartford General Hospital, in Connecticut.
Gregg is survived by his wife, Jean M. Vong, of New York; daughter, Kate, of Ohio; parents, Howard and Marlys, of Chisago City; sister, Gail, of Minneapolis; brother, Kent (Janet), of Deer River; in-laws, Mary Ann and Bob Evander, of Edina; John Vong, of St. Paul; Jim and Fran Cheney, of Milwaukee; Chuck and Arta Cheney, of Shoreview; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and neighbors.
Gregg loved music, reading, swimming, Minnesota and Connecticut sports, antique comic books, swing dancing and vacations with his family, especially visits to his beloved Lindstrom and North Lindstrom Lake.
Memorial service Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at Chisago Lake Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Center City. Memorial service at 11 a.m., visitation one hour before the service. Interment at North Branch Cemetery.
Gregg appreciated the love and support from family, co-workers, caregivers and his dogs, Bella and Lucy. He will be deeply missed by many.
