I hope you had a chance to read the 2004 Gift Guide that came out in the Search last week. There are so many wonderful businesses in the area that have so much to offer you. I really urge you to take some time and go to our local stores, you will be amazed at the quality and selection offered. These business owners are your neighbors, not some huge conglomerate who could care less about our community.
Also in the Gift Guide, on page 2 you will find a coloring contest for your children. Please have your child color the picture and then bring it into the Press. Not only will they receive a candy cane but they will be entered into a coloring contest which will be offering prizes for all categories. We will be announcing the winners of the coloring contest in mid December.
If you and your family are looking for something fun to do, there are some great festivals coming up. On December 4, Lindstrom will be holding its annual Small Town Christmas and Tree Lighting Ceremony. You will be able to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus from 4 to 5. You can warm up with a bowl of “booya” from 3 to 6 in the Library Park. There will also be a bonfire and free horse-drawn hayrides.
If you are looking for something to do a little earlier in the day, be sure to check out Christmas in Center City. This wonderful event will be held from 1-4 in the downtown Center City area. They will be offering all kinds of artists and craftspeople along with their wares. You can take in the Bertha Andersen Art Exhibition and enjoy cheese tasting and coffee samplers. The Chisago Lake Lutheran Church is putting on a Holiday Bazaar from 1-4. And don’t miss the man in the red suit at Silver Shears from 1-3. I hope you get a chance to take in some of these great traditions that make our area so special.
