Center City officials, local veterans and Boy Scout Troop 135 celebrated a flag dedication Saturday, November 6 at the Summit Avenue entrance to the city.

Eagle Scout Adam Erdman is redoing the triangular landscaped area as an Eagle Scout Community Project, and part of the effort was to install a new flagpole, to display American and POW flags donated by VFW Post 7267. Center City Mayor Mark Wolcott noted the veterans’ memorial stone on the site was erected 50 years ago and at that time Center City had its own veterans’ organization--Post 44-- active in town.

Erdman, rear, reads the description of the meaning of the 13 folds as the flag was made ready to present to Mayor Wolcott, aided by scouts Rick Weise, Matt Fitzer and Trevor Newman with leader Bruce Carlsted (glasses). Erdman is also adding a bench and new plant stock at the site.
