I had the opportunity to take photos of the new band shell in Lindstrom at Lions Park recently. Wow, what a beautiful building and setting that is. The city really picked a great location to hold concerts and future get-togethers. If you have not had a chance to drive by and see it, I would encourage you to do so. Next summer is going to be a great time for taking in a concert in the park.
The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be making a stop in Chisago City November 15 and 16 at the Chisago City Community Center. On average the North Central Region, where we reside, needs between 900 and 1,000 units of donated blood daily to fill patients’ needs. What a great way to donate something that you know will go to someone who truly needs it. Call Randy at 651-257-9618 for info or to make an appointment.
Time is approaching for the 16th annual Chisago Lakes Lions Club Community Thanksgiving Dinner. The dinner is open to anyone who needs or wants to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner in the company of others. The dinner will be served from noon to 1 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom. Donations of food and/or money are welcome and needed as are people to help set up, prepare, serve and clean up on Thanksgiving Day.
If you would like to make a donation or a reservation, please call Mark (257-2654) or Gary at (257-5679). This is a great dinner for anyone who does not want to be alone on Thanksgiving.
This past weekend my family took a long weekend and visited my grandmother in Iowa. Six of us all packed into our minivan for a four hour ride. After six plus hours of driving (detours and road closures) we finally made it. What a wonderful time it is to watch your own children fawning over their great-grandma. Here were two children under the age of six, and all they wanted to do was play with their 87-year-old great-grandma. I can only hope I am able to play with my great-grandchildren someday.
