If you are like me, you are looking forward to November 3. That’s the day the campaign signs start to come down. If you have seen a sign for a politician you are unsure of, I urge you to call that person and ask them what their stance is on issues concerning you. This is our last chance to get all the information to let us make the correct vote.
We are very fortunate to have welltrained, well-equipped and highly dedicated firefighters to protect us and our property. Besides being there to fight fires our firemen do so much more. They have donated thousands and thousands of dollars and so many hours of volunteering to many worthwhile projects. Firefighters do all of this while still holding down regular jobs to support their families. Thank you to all area firefighters for all you do for the community and for keeping us safe. Fire Prevention Week is this week. Check the various ads in this paper to find out schedules of events to celebrate Fire Prevention Week.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you are a woman, or know of a woman, please urge them to get regular breast exams. Early detection is so important and helps increase the odds of survival. Speaking from someone who lost their mother to breast cancer, please make the appointment today.
Last week I had one of the worst days I have had since being here. I was screamed at by a person, our press broke down and I started to get the worst cold I’ve had in a long time. The day just progressively got worse and worse. When I got home all the tension and anger just flew out the window when my 5-year-old asked me to play trucks with him. There is no medication or therapy as powerful as playing with your children.
