Fall fun in Lindstrom, Chisago City this week

It has come to our attention that in the last edition of the Press, a politician submitted a bio before responding directly to the questions asked for the voters guide. First let me just say that our mistake was that we did not make it crystal clear how the responses should be turned in. Unfortunately, one person chose to write their bio, if you will, and the other candidates did not. Let me just say for the record that the Press is and always will be unbiased when it comes to political races. The Chisago County Press does not endorse any candidate or any political party whatsoever. We try very hard to make our coverage as fair as we can. I urge you, the people, to call the politicians in your district and really get a feel for what they truly stand for. Because the best vote is an educated vote.

This Thursday Lindstrom will be hosting another Ladies Night Out. The Night Out will have lots of fun, food and prizes. The theme this fall is “patriotic” and you are urged to dress patriotic. Don’t miss out on the fun, it runs from 5 to 9 p.m., you will be glad you did.

If you have children, you will want to take in the Halloween Fall Festival, in Chisago City’s Moberg Park, from noon till 2:30 p.m., Sunday. There will be many different events for your child to partake in. You can get a pumpkin, you can take a hayride driven by Clydesdales, craft making, and even the “Rattling of the Bones” kiddie costume parade. Make sure to bring your camera.

Now that winter is almost here, it is time to remind area merchants that we are beginning to work on our annual Holiday Gift Guide that appears in the Search Shopper. If you or your business are interested in placing your advertising message in this special section, please give our advertising department a call. We will help you create an advertising message that will reach over 19,000 area homes and potential customers. You can remind them that you have a terrific business and would appreciate the chance to earn their business this holiday season.

I read somewhere that President Bush was being blamed for the flu shot shortage. Every day I ask myself could it get any stranger and every day I get a resounding yes it can. To actually think the head of our country would have something to do with a flu shot mess up is simply a head scratcher. You now know what I think of it. I think the D minus I received in macro economics at Mankato State in the late 80’s must have had something to do with our current president. Yeah, I can definitely sleep a little better now. Thanks G.W.!
