Chase M. Lieser, of North Branch, passed away peacefully Friday, March 25, 2005, at his home.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Connie, and daughter, Nancy.

Chase is survived by son, Chase (Skip) and wife, Kristie, of Plymouth, Minn.; and three daughters: Jane Lieser-Shepard (Steven Roloff), of Prior Lake, Minn.; Katherine (Terri) and husband, Orris Erlandson, of Lindstrom, Minn.; and Patricia and husband, Craig Anderson, of North Branch, Minn.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Chase was born in Des Moines, Iowa, Dec. 13, 1916, to Melvin and Ina (Chase) Lieser and graduated from Roosevelt High School. After serving in the Army in WWII from 1939-1945, Chase returned to Des Moines where he met and married Constance Keidle May 25, 1946. He worked in several sales and advertising positions, including the Wallace’s Farmer and Des Moines Register and Tribune, before buying Lieser Oil Company and moving to North Branch in 1963.

Chase was an active member of the National Oil Jobber Association and local Minnesota chapter where for 15 years he helped develop policy and met lifelong friends. He was also very active in the North Branch community, including the local Masonic Lodge. Chase was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church for over 41 years, where he was active in many areas and a current member of the Finance Committee. He enjoyed many activities in his long life such as golf, flying, bowling and curling. However, his real joy was his family and time spent with them at the cabin he built on Lake Clare, in Lutsen, Minn., in 1969. In his retirement years, Chase and Connie loved traveling south to visit friends in the winter and playing a little golf.

He was blessed to lead a full life and will be missed by his family and the many friends he has made over the years.

Services were held at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, in North Branch, March 28. Interment at St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery.
