If you have been reading the County Press lately, you have probably seen the ads for this year’s Santa Anonymous drive. This is a wonderful local program designated to bring some holiday cheer to local children who's families unfortunately are financially unable to purchase presents. The program has been running successfully for over 25 years and now they need our help. This year the requests have been up from years past and unfortunately the donations are down from years past.

The Santa Anonymous program is in dire need of donations to make this year’s campaign successful. They are accepting new unwrapped, non-violent toys, games, books, gifts and winter clothing from newborn to 18 years of age. There are toy collection sites in virtually every town around. Look in this edition of the County Press for locations. For any questions please call LeeAnn at 651-583-3121. They will be accepting donations only until December 12, so time is not on our side. Lets make this a great Christmas for everyone.

If you really want to experience3 the Christmas spirit you should check out the Sankta Lucia program this saturday at the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City. Come see how the Scandinavian families of yesteryear celebrated Christmas. Local youth will be featured in the program and there will be coffee and treats served 8:30 a.m., the program starts at 9.

There is a buzz in the air about high school sports. Winter is one of the most exciting sports seasons to take in local sports. You have 10 different boys and girls sports to choose from. And the best part, some of Chisago’s teams are projected to be quite good this winter.

Keeping on the subject of high school sports. I would like to apologize to the Stenson family for the error on our cover of the sports preview. We mistakenly printed the wrong photograph with their son’s name under it. It’s a little depressing when you are excited to see your child in the spot light only to find out it’s not even them in the photo.
