Round One-
St. Cloud Tech 2
Chisago Lakes 1
“We didn’t pull the trigger at all. Four our standards, 18 shots is real bad,” said Al Magnuson, Chisago Lakes head girls hockey coach. “The girls aren’t pulling the trigger when they have a chance. Something is wrong with our chemistry right now and I don’t know what it is.”
“Everyone is gunning for you. It said right on the tournament program that we were the only team in the field that made state last year,” replied Magnuson. “I don’t know if the girls are handling the hype that goes along with making it to state the year before and only losing one girl. I’m not sure what’s going on.”

Round Two-
Bloomington Jefferson 5
Chisago Lakes 1
“We were down in their end for most of the game. We out-shot them 33-17, but our shot selection, when we did get shts, were belly shots. They weren’t good shots on net,” remarked Magnuson. “When they had a shot they buried it and we didn’t.”
“You just tell the girls to keep shooting , maybe get one in and put them on their heels a little bit,” said Magnuson. “We just couldn’t put one in. All we needed to do was bury one in the corner of the net to make it a game and we couldn’t do that.”

Seventh Place Game-
Chisago Lakes 6
Orono
“Orono is not a real strong team. They lost their big gunners from last year,” mentioned Magnuson. “We played good. It was nice to see seniors score three of the six goals, so there were some positives.”
“They got six goals and tons of shots. The fun came back a little bit,” smiled Magnuson. “A win at that point, especially after losing Morgan for the season, that really helped our confidence.”
