Julia was born to John and Mary Nelson Sept. 15, 1907, in the township of Sterling, in the county of Polk, in the state of Wisconsin.
Julia was married to Enoch Graham in Waukesha, Wis., Feb. 24, 1924. To that marriage seven children were born. The family lived in the Waukesha area until after the Great Depression when they returned to the Sterling area.
In the 1940s they moved to Grantsburg and opened the restaurant “The Eat Shop” in business through the war years. After the war they moved to St. Paul where Julia worked for the Simon and Magilner sewing factories. She later became a nursing assistant and worked until her retirement for the Wilder Foundation.
In 1966 she retired with Enoch at their home on Yellow Lake near Webster, Wis. After Enoch’s death she returned to St. Paul and became a surrogate mom for the Hooper family. After 15 years she retired once again to her much loved home at Valkommen Apartments, in Lindstrom, Minn.
She became involved in Trinity Lutheran Church and all the activities that took place at Valkommen. She had had the opportunity to travel to many places in the world and had visited her ancestral home in Norway in 1969. Of all the places she lived and visited she loved to call Lindstrom her home.
