Caroline Franklin

Caroline Jean Franklin was brought into this world Sept. 1, 1965, and was a blessing to her parents.

She grew up in St. Paul where she attended school, went to church and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1983.

During her young life she made and kept many friends, and worked at a horse ranch where she would take people out on trail rides and of course took care of the animals (She enjoyed the trail rides better).

Caroline went on to attend St. Paul AVTI, where she studied cosmetology.

This is when she met her husband and now friend, Ken. She was blessed with three beautiful children: Benjamin, Nicholas and Amanda.

Caroline's interests changed and she decided to go into the medical field. She attended college, graduated and landed a position as an EMT at Chisago Lakes Rescue Squad. Through the years at Chisago, she made many more friends. She set her sights higher and became a paramedic for the Advanced Life Support and began her career with LifeLink III where she was a flight medic. This was her dream job which she enjoyed greatly.

Caroline thought that she was a sports extremist, as a hockey mom, you know what I'm talking about. I'm not saying she was the loudest, just that she was the only one heard.

She tried her luck on ATV riding and snowmobiling but had to give it up on account of her body telling her to look for another hobby.

Caroline was a great and strong person, a loving mother, a devoted daughter, a loyal friend and above all an inspiration to us all.

She was loved by many and many loved her. She loved life and lived it to the fullest, that's the way she liked it.

Please keep her children and family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

God Bless.

Caroline passed away accidentally July 5, 2005, at the age of 39 years.

She is survived by her children: Benjamin and Nicholas Thorson and Amanda Franklin; sister, Katherine (Christopher) Stickney; parents, Philip and Marlys Franklin; Ken (Becky) Thorson; and mother-in-law, Jan Thorson.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 10, 2005, at Zion Lutheran Church, in Chisago City. Interment at South Green Lake Cemetery, in Chisago City.

Memorials are preferred to: Thorson/Franklin Children Fund, Attn: Tracy Johnson, Riverbank, 11151 Lake Blvd., Chisago City, MN 55013.
