I hope your home survived the high winds and torrential downpours last weekend. I could not believe how fast it moved in and when it did, how long the winds were sustained. I knew something was up when the sky went from black to emerald green. We definitely need the rain, but when it’s 2 inches in 30 minutes, most of it runs off.
Pardon me, but my latest ire is really eating at me and I would like to share it with you. Three times last week I was driving with my children around the area. On all three occasions we had the pleasure of having three different motorists drive within two feet of our rear bumper. There was ample room for them to pass on all occasions but for some reason they opted not. I lived in Blaine for five years so I am somewhat used to tailgaters, but in Lindstrom? Where are you going that you have to drive so close you can count the gray hairs on my head? By the way, you are not helping my cause. Then to top it off, when we finally make a turn, you proudly hold your middle finger up to let me know going the speed limit is just not tolerated. Thanks for educating my children on hand gestures, because every 5 and 3-year-old should know how to give the one finger salute. Please either give us a break or move to the cities where there are more of your kind.
The Press is still searching for that special someone to cover sports and other local activities in our area. If you think you or someone you know would be a good fit for the paper and the community, please contact us by way of resume. You can mail them to Chisago County Press, P.O. Box 748, Lindstrom, MN, 55045 Attn: Matt. We hope to hear from you soon.
