Eldor farmed in Traverse County until moving to Roseville, Minn., in 1956. He moved with his children to the Shafer area in 1962. In 1989, one year before retiring from 32 years of service with Metcalf Moving and Storage, he built a new home in Taylors Falls, where he lived with his wife until his death.
Eldor enjoyed spending time with family and friends, flower gardening, hunting, fishing and trips to the casino. He was very active at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Taylors Falls.
Eldor is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Madelyn, sister Charlotte and granddaughter Yvette.
Eldor is survived by wife of 35 years, Cleo; children: Dale Stomberg (Mari Kook) of Mahtomedi, Minn.; Craig (Bernadette) Stomberg, of Shafer, Minn. Diane (Mike) Switzer, of Farmington, Wis.; Rosalee Valleen, of St. Croix Falls, Wis.; Dennis (Lori) Stomberg, of Lino Lakes, Minn.; Myles (Marilyn) Stomberg, of Hugo, Minn.; Susan (Randy) Huber, of Lindstrom, Minn.; and Lisa (Steve) Griffiths, of Champlin, Minn. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; by his sisters: Edith Lundborg, of Monticello, Minn.; Mildred Toso, of Alexandria, Minn.; and Hildur Dyer, of Graceville, Minn.
Funeral service was at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Taylors Falls, Tuesday, June 7, 2005. He was buried at Kahbakong Cemetery, Taylors Falls.
