Karl Oskar Days coming soon, this year's celebration set for July 6-10
This memorial wouldn’t be here if it were not for the vision and dreams of some local Vets. Ken Harmon and his fellow Vets have worked tirelessly for months and months to make the memorial a reality. If you see Ken, Orin, Gary, Dale, John, George or any of the local Vets around town, tell them what a great job they did and how absolutely beautiful the memorial turned out.
Don’t look now but Karl Oskar Days is quickly coming upon us. This year’s Karl Oskar Days will be held July 6 through July 10. This year’s celebration promises to be bigger and better. The Karl Oskar Days Committee is still looking for volunteers to help in all facets of the celebration. If you can and would like to volunteer your time, please call Paul Dennison at 257-4818 or Connie at 257-1117. Anything you can volunteer will be very appreciated.
Apparently it has been a long time since we have seen the sun. I have forgotten how powerful it is. I was out side for most of Sunday and today it feels like you could fry an egg on my sun-burnt shoulders.
Here is a little funny quip I thought you would enjoy.
During a soccer game, the coach called one of his 7-year-old players aside and asked, “Do you understand what cooperation is? Do you know what a team is?” The boy nodded. “Do you understand that what matters is how we play as a team?” The boy nodded yes again. “So I’m sure you know when a foul is called, you shouldn’t argue, curse, yell at the referee, or call him an idiot. Do you understand all that?” Again the boy nodded.
The coach continued, “ And when I take you out of the game so another player gets a chance to play, it’s not good sportsmanship to call your coach an idiot, is it?” The boy replied no. “Good” said the coach. “Now go over there and explain all that to your mother and father.
