Dozens of area Boy Scouts aided in the dedication of the Veterans Memorial in Lindstrom Saturday. The flag from the White House was presented by a staff member of Congressman James Oberstar and the Scouts salute. The flag was hoisted upon one of the poles. In lower photo-- a couple searches for the name of a loved one in the pavers, with the Statue of Liberty in background. The statue and many other components of this memorial site were donated.

Chisago County Veterans Service Officer and Emergency Services Manager Jim Halstrom served as master of ceremonies.

Engraved pavers with the serviceperson’s name, branch of service and dates continue to be placed in the memorial as long as anyone wishes to order one. There are some 600 engraved, reserved pavers installed but there’s room for about twice that.
