I would like to take this time to publicly apologize to you, the reader, for an advertisement we ran February 17 of this year. The ad was for a recycling company trying to get started in our community. In the ad the author is quite verbally abusive to a select few individuals of the community. I understand that he is trying to get his message out there and I can appreciate that, but not at the expense of shaming people publicly. This person was told by the Press that if they would like to voice their opinion, to write a letter to the editor. The company will still continue to run an advertisement, but without the harsh commentary. Again, I apologize if the ad has upset people and I appreciate people calling and letting us know their feelings.

We here at the Press have just completed both our Community Guide and our annual Home and Business and Outdoor Show brochures. Look for both of these to arrive in your Search very soon.

The Home and Business and the Outdoor Shows are quickly coming upon us. Mark your calendar for March 12 and 13 for the Home Show and March 11, 12 and 13 for the Outdoor Show. I think this year the shows will offer more than ever and you will see plenty of vendors willing to talk with you about your area of interest. Plan on going to both shows, you will be glad you did.

I just got off the phone with a woman from Chisago City who’s husband is serving in Iraq. She was asking about sending a subscription overseas. I thought it was a tremendous idea. In fact, if you have a loved one or a friend that is in Afghanistan or Iraq and they are in the military, we here at the Press would like to help you send them a County Press.
