The Wildcats appear to be on a roll after winning their second conference match in a row, beating North Branch Vikings 6-1 last Monday.

Chisago won three matches at singles and swept doubles play. The only North Branch win came from David Stark at number one singles. Stark defeated Joe Knafla in three sets.

As for the rest, Nick Peterson, Matt Carpenter and Jimmy Moen all won in straight sets on the singles court. At number four singles, Moen, a senior, grabbed a 6-1, 6-0 victory by defeating Luke Chandler.

“Jimmy did an excellent job,” remarked Phil Derksen, Chisago Lakes head boys tennis coach. “He was quick and decisive in winning his match.”

On the doubles court, all three Chisago doubles teams won in straight sets. As a matter of fact, the three teams lost a combined three games, dominating North Branch from start to finish.

With things rolling, the ‘Cats look ahead to St. Michael-Albertville this Thursday before the conference meet next Thursday. For North Branch, the Vikings face Princeton and Park Center before taking part in the conference meet.
