The Chisago County Press would like to send out a great big “get better soon” to Mrs. Moody. Last week her car was struck by another vehicle sending her to the hospital with multiple injuries. It seems she was struck by someone who was racing their car with another. Their car lost control and collided with Mrs. Moody’s. We wish her all the best and will keep her in our prayers. To have someone almost taken from your life just because someone else is being careless is just wrong. At the very least, we as parents need to instill in our children the ability to pre-think about their actions and how their actions will affect the others around them.

Traffic. Yuck. I guess I had better change my attitude, this is going to be part of our lives for quite a while. Not only are they working on Highway 8 but it almost seems as though there are more vehicles on the road than before. I’m sure that when it is all said and done we will be very happy with the end result.

If you have traveled through Lindstrom lately, you probably have noticed the old library. Construction has begun on the new Veteran’s Memorial. My dad has a brick in the memorial down in Cedar Falls, Iowa. You would be amazed at the amount of people that visit the memorial. We are lucky to have so many dedicated veterans in our community that are helping with the memorial in every way possible.

The Press is still looking for a summer intern to assist in writing sports stories. If you or your child is in high school and is a creative writer, we would like to talk with you. This is a great opportunity for you and the County Press. This is a paid position that would entail covering and photographing local sports. If you are interested, please call Matt at 651-257-5115.

I would like to take this time to thank some very important people to the Press. Bob Porter, Colleen Kastanek and Tom O’Mara have all been writing for the County Press for years. They all in their own way add flavor and depth to our paper and we are thrilled to have them on our team. Thank you for all your great work, you are truly appreciated.
