As winter nears, remember our less fortunate neighbors
But in the end spending time with my grandma, watching her play with our children, it’s hard to put in words but I could watch it all day long. My children absolutely worship this woman who is 81 years older than they are. And she had a twinkle in her eyes the whole time she was with the kids. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful person to call Grandma. She is without doubt, my inspiration on how to live life to its fullest.
As winter draws near we need to keep those less fortunate than ourselves. A great way to help those in need locally is by giving to the local food shelves. Until you have been in the position of truly needing assistance, you probably will never fully understand just how much your donations are appreciated. Some times there is a stigma that goes with food shelves, like only the lazy people need the shelf, or people feel they don’t need a job when they can milk the food shelf.
Well nothing could be further from the truth. The people who use the food shelf’s resources are generally hard working, family oriented people who for some reason or another have fallen on some hard times. It could easily be me or you needing some assistance. Let’s try to fill the food shelf and make sure our neighbors can enjoy the quality of life you and I do.
Here is another little humorous Vikings quip. Considering most of my family roots for the Packers this one is perfect.
Four guys climb Mount Everest...One guy devoted to the Giants, one guy to the Steelers, one for the Packers and one for the Vikings. So they all make it to the top of Everest and the Giants fan says, "For the Giants, Super Bowl Champions" and jumps off. The Steeler fan says "For the Steel Curtain" and jumps off. The Vikings fan says "For the Vikings" and pushes the Packers fan off.
