While in Lindstrom he enjoyed entertaining friends and family as well as fishing on South Center Lake. He entered eternal life from his home in Centerville via congestive heart failure.
Don wrote “The Evangelist” for the Chisago Press from 1992-1994 and also taught 5th grade in Taylors Falls for three years, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He had returned to college at the age of 53 at River Falls, Wis., to receive his teaching credentials and his Master’s degree.
He is preceded in death by first wife, Marlene.
He is survived by wife, Janis; daughters: Diane (Dan) Carter, of Bozeman, Montana; and Julie (Justo) Rico, of Miami, Florida; grandchildren: Erik (Amy) Rico, Alysse and Rebekah Rico and Jimmy Carter and sisters, Edi (Cary) Moss, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Helen (Harold) Baughman, of Cannon Falls, plus nieces and nephews.
