She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her sister, Margaret Heebink and her brother, Eugene.
She is survived by sons: Neil (Carla) and Jay (Caroline); five grandsons: Blaine (Amy), Bart (Shaun), Bryce (Cathy), Brian (Katherine) and Bradley (Megan); five great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Violet Norelius.
She is also survived by nieces and one nephew and many other relatives and friends.
She was deeply loved by her family and her many friends.
Carol was born December 25, 1910, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Maggie) O'Neil in St. Croix Falls, Wis. She graduated from St. Croix Falls High School and attended teachers college in St. Croix Falls. She married Paul Norelius August 8, 1937, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom, and they resided in Lindstrom where Paul served as Postmaster from 1936-1975. He passed away October 16, 1990.
Carol had a natural talent for music. One of the many things she liked to do was Irish songs in costume, with piano and voice. She entertained at homes for the aged, hospital care units, weddings, anniversaries and many social functions in both Minnesota and Wisconsin during her lifetime. She also wrote poetry, much of which was published.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1937, a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Fairview Lakes Hospital Auxiliary, the former Lindstrom Civic Club and served as acting Postmaster from March 1944 to March 1946 during Paul's Army service in World War II.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 17, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Lindstrom, with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom.
Carol Norelius will be remembered for her love of life, family, poetry and music.
