Junior Brad Peters was low man for the Vikings with a very nice 37. Peters was All-Conference in the Rum River Conference last year and, as expected, he led his team in its first North Suburban contest.
Travis Peterson was next for the Vikings with a 44. Jake Moosey’s 45 counted toward the team score as well. Doug Jorgenson and Taylor Perreault had matching 47’s and Kyle Lovin completed the varsity scores with a 48.
Weather conditions were nearly perfect and the golf course was in exceptional condition, considering the fact that, in many past years, the course wasn’t even open, yet.
“Our scores were okay,” said 30-year North Branch head coach Tom Moriarty. “We did about like I’d expected. My hope is that we’ll allways be 170 or lower and that we’ll be able to get down to 160, at some point.”
The Vikings’ next meet is on the road at Chisago Lakes, beginning at 3:30 Wednesday, April 26.
