He is preceded in death by wife, Rose Fish, wife, Wilma Olson; brothers: Stan and Russell; sister, Evelyn; and stepson, Jim Olson.
He is survived by niece, Helen (Marty) Boehne; kids: Steve (Cheryl) Fish, Ben Olson, David (Jenny) Olson, Karen (Mark) Campbell and Karla (Bob) Waddell; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Earl was born Aug. 16, 1918, in Maple Plain, Minn. Earl’s mother, Martha Carlson, was born in Jamptland, Sweden, and his father was born in Rush Point, Minn.
Earl lived on the east side of St. Paul from 1925 to 1949. He attended Harding High School and entered the Army in May 1941, where he spent his time in the Philippines/New Guinea. He was discharged in 1946.
After the military he attended Dunwoody Institute for shoe making and moved to Lindstrom in 1949. He was active in the Sportsman’s Club (life member), Lindstrom Fire Department, VFW #287 and Hiram Lodge 287.
He married Rose Fish in 1967, she died in 1988. In 1991, he married Wilma Olson and moved to Parmly Lakeview Apartments in Chisago City. Wilma died in 2002.
Earl contributed to our community immensely. He is loved dearly and will be missed by many.
