Threshing Show, Drive-In celebrate major milestones
Congratulations to The Drive-In in Taylors Falls. This week they will turn 50 years old. With as many restaurants that come and go these days, 50 years is quite an accomplishment. This week they will be treating you the customer to all kinds of specials from food to mini-golfing. Since The Drive-In is my children’s favorite restaurant, I will probably see you there.
The Lindstrom EDA had its final presentation of the “split pairs” concept last week. The second meeting was not met with open arms by some business owners. With all of the plans that have been brought (and some not) in front of the City Council, well let’s just say the council has some very serious choices to make. The decision on Highway 8 through Lindstrom will be a monumental decision if they in fact do act on a plan. The federal money window is closing fast and if they are to act, the time is now. If you are a resident or a business owner, now is the time when you need to pick up the phone and call your council person and mayor. Let them know your feelings on how to approach the Highway 8 issue. After all, you elected them. They are working for your best interest.
Adding to the subject of restaurants, I would like to take this time to thank the good folks at Eichten’s Bistro. Last week we hosted a retirement party for one of our staff. Eichten’s owner Bill, referred me to Mike who took perfect care of our needs. The food was terrific and the service was even better. Thanks for making a special event perfect.
