Claudia Allen-Howe (nee Howe) Monson was born April 3, 1957, in St. Paul, Minn. She died Dec. 17, 2006, in Lindstrom, Minn.

Claudia is preceded in death by father, Robert Ellithorpe Howe; grandparents: Roy and Winifred Ellithorpe Howe, of Savanna, Ill., and Claude and Anna Jensen Allen, of St. Paul, Minn.

She is survived by her hero husband, Steven L. Monson, and beloved sons: Peter, Robert and Christopher; mother, Doris A. Howe; sisters: Carol (Mike) Egan, Constance (Dan) Spear, mother-in-law, JoAnn Monson; sisters-in-law: Christine (Tim) Gale and Kathi Monson; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Claudia was born and raised in St. Paul and Rochester. She attended St. Cloud State University, living in Denmark and France for 1-1/2 years during that time. She graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Claudia moved to Lindstrom in 1995 and loved the community. She got very involved with the First United Methodist Church and with Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop #159.

Ovarian cancer took her earthly life. She was employed at Margaret S. Parmly, where she was the coordinator for the South Chisago Meals on Wheels program for nine years. She loved the job as it created deep roots in the Chisago Lakes community. She enjoyed meeting the hundreds of meal recipients, their families and the volunteers who support the program.

Claudia and Steve thank the many friends who supported her and the family during her illness.

A public Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, in Lindstrom, Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at 1 p.m., to celebrate her life.
