According to Wildcat head coach Jim Sauerbry, the team won despite not swimming as fast as it has in the past. The team was able to win even though there was no diving, one of the Wildcats’ strengths.
“Our kids continue to win the close races and to finish below average swims with strong finishes,” said Sauerbry.
Meet highlights included Hunter Heggerston’s four first place finishes and winning all three relays, according to the coach. The event and meet scores are lower than normal because the SLP pool has only five lanes, so each team is limited to two varsity entrants per event.
