A native of West St. Paul and a Navy veteran, he helped many as president of Farmers State/Town & Country Bank. He loved his job, family and being outdoors in his deer stand or fishing with the grandkids, who called him “Papa.”
John is survived by wife, Kaye; daughters: Aimee, of Utah, and Leslie (Randy) Grossmann-Brown, of New York; son, Chuck (Colleen) Grossmann, of Cottage Grove, and their children; mother, Marion Grossmann, of St. Paul; sister, Maryann (Tom) Grossmann Thomsen, of St. Paul; brother, Kurt (Judy), of Faribault; niece, Tami (Rob) Chemberlin, of Dundas; nephews: Scott (Melissa) Grossmann, of Inver Grove Heights; James Grossmann, of Hastings; special nephew, A.J., of Luck, Wis.; and lifelong friend, Ron Chandler, of Scandia.
A celebration of John’s life was Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, in St. Croix Falls. Memorials preferred to Ducks Unlimited.
