John William Nelson, age 63, died Dec. 27, 2005. He was born Dec. 25, 1942, at St. Croix Falls Township, Wis., (Polk County) to parents Charles William Nelson and Norma Fern Stone.

John worked as a machinist for over 20 plus years. He joined the Air Force in 1961 and served until 1964. John received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. Lifelong hobby was going to Cedar Lake Speedway to watch the late model modifieds.

He is preceded in death by parents.

He is survived by sons: Sandy Nelson and Scott (Missy) Nelson; grandchildren: Jonathon, Sean, Trevin and Brandon; sister, Karen Gipson; brothers: Charles Nelson, Leroy (Betty) Nelson and Steven (Lori) Nelson; ex-wife Sharon Morse and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation service was Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Grandstrand Funeral Home, Lindstrom.
