If you are looking for something to do this weekend I would recommend the new Chisago Lakes Library grand opening. Starting at 10 a.m., the Friends of the Library have put together a grand opening that includes refreshments, music and other festivities. The opening will be attended by Congressman Jim Oberstar and author Jane Yolen.

If you are like me, you have watched the entire building process when driving by. This is your chance to finally see what the building looks like on the inside. You will get to meet all the people who have worked tirelessly to bring this wonderful building to our area. So please come out and see what a fabulous job they have done and let them know their hard work is appreciated.

On Monday I almost drove my car into the ditch. It wasn’t because I was overly tired or I was fiddling with my radio, no, rather it was because I saw what I believed to be a flying saucer. There was a huge, bright, fiery orb floating in the sky and it seemed to follow me wherever I went. I have seen my fair share of X-Files episodes and to my dismay my radio did not in fact turn off and on repeatedly. Nervously, I thought who should I call? The Pentagon? The Air Force? I thought I would start here locally, so I called the police department. I told them of this awesome looking ball of energy, and to my dismay, they told me what I have indeed been seeing was not a U.F.O. but in fact was the sun. The sun. Now how was I to know what that looked like?

The staff here at the Chisago County Press are working hard on the upcoming Community Guide.
