Wildcat girls basketball finds missing offense in a big way against Webster
The game was close for the first few minutes. The ‘Cats had taken a 10-7 lead and it looked like both teams would struggle. But, the Wildcats caught fire and went on a 37-6 run to close the first half for a 47-13 lead at the intermission.
Chisago Lakes head coach Carl Pierson let his starters play the first few minutes of the second half. At that point, the Wildcat bench came in and picked up where the starters left off.
"I was pleased with the way we played at a high level the entire game. Sometimes when you get a nice lead, players have a tendency to lose their focus. Nobody on our team did that, our bench included,” said Pierson. “We played the game the right way for 36 minutes. Hopefully we can begin to make this a habit as we enter the most challenging stretch of our schedule.”
Kori Sells led the team with 15 rebounds. Jess Peterson added 10 rebounds and Brenna Coyle collected seven in the second half. Megan Corradi had another nice all-around game with six assists and five steals.
