CLHS honors "Triple A" winners
Hernick, Cunningham recognized for all-around excellence
This year’s winners are Caitlin Cunningham and Christopher Hernick.
Caitlin Cunningham
Caitlin Cunningham, daughter of Cynthia and Patrick Cunningham of Chisago City, ranks first of 272 students in the senior class. She’s been a member of the National Honor Society in both her junior and senior year and earned an Academic letter in grade 11.
Participation in Athletics
Four year letter winner in girls’ swimming and diving
Girls swim team captain and state tournament participant 2005
Participant in girls basketball 9-12, lettered in grades 10 and 11
Participated in softball in grades 9 and 10
Lettered in summer weightlifting in ninth grade
Lettered in alpine skiing in seventh grade
Fine Arts Accomplishments
Participant in choir grades 9-12, and also stage chorus in grade 11
Member of all-conference choir this year
Community Involvement
Active in church and community volunteer programs
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA leadership team grades 11-12)
"Swimming, basketball and choir have helped me develop team building skills and the drive to push past all boundaries. The lessons from each activity will help me achieve my long term aspiration, protecting my homeland in service through the United States Coast Guard,” said Cunningham.
Christopher Hernick
Christopher Hernick, son of Stephen and Susan Hernick of Lindstrom, ranks third in the senior class of CLHS. He earned an Academic Letter in grade 11 and has been National Honor Society member in grades 11 and 12. He’s a member of the Knowledge Bowl team (9-12) and Math League in grades 9 and 10 (State participant in 2004).

"Of all that I've learned in school, two of the most important lessons happened not in class, but through participation in my school's soccer and speech programs. It was because of these activities that I learned the value of practice and perseverance. After college, as an engineer in the job market, I am confident that practice and perseverance will be helpful in allowing me to achieve the best results that I am able,” said Hernick.
Cunningham and Hernick, along with the North Branch AAA winners, were recognized for their achievements at the Wildcat-Viking basketball games January 12 at North Branch and January 13 at Chisago Lakes.
