Elvera E.O. Thalenhorst, beloved mother and cherished grandmother (nee Holmgren), age 92.

She was born in Franconia Township in Chisago County June 23, 1914, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family July 15, 2006.

She is preceded in death by parents, Gerda and Herbert; loving husband, Kermit; brothers: Raymond and Arne; and sister, Esther Brostrom.

Elvera is survived by daughters: Patricia Benson (Ragnar) of Vancouver, WA and Ilene Castillo (Ricardo) of Woodbury, MN; grandchildren: Amy, Valerie and Joseph Castillo; and nieces Gloria Byrd and Mary Nelson (Jerry).

She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Ruth Circle.

Her quiet courage, gentleness and understanding continue to inspire all who knew her.

Interment and service 10 a.m., Thursday, August 10, at Panola Cemetery, Lindstrom.
