The local veterans are currently accepting orders for new bricks to be installed in the Veterans’ Memorial Park. If you look in this edition of the County Press, you will see a registration form with instructions on how to purchase a brick. What a fantastic way to show the world what your loved one or friend did for our great country. If you have never visited the Memorial, I would recommend it. The local veterans have worked their tails off to give our community something that stands out from other communities. I know I sometimes ramble on about our local vets, but to me they represent everything that’s great about the country we live in. If it wasn’t for them, who knows what the United States would look like now. The deadline for ordering a brick is April 15, 2006.
In the near future I am going to take one of the biggest steps of my life. I am planning on having laser surgery on my eyes. I can’t think of anything scarier (other than Bigfoot) than having someone potentially ruining my eyesight. But, needless to say, I have heard nothing but good things about this surgery. Here is where you come in. I am asking you, the readers, to please call or e-mail me if you have in fact had the surgery or if you know someone who has and where you went for the surgery. Because I’m such a wimp when it comes to medical procedures, I would really like to hear from you, albeit good or bad, and if I get the cohones to do the procedure, I will let you know all the details.
This Friday is St. Patrick’s Day. Being Irish, I used to really enjoy celebrating with green beer and all. I urge you to be responsible this St. Patty’s Day. Please have a designated driver in place and please call someone instead of getting behind the wheel.
