Christian Swanberg finished first in both the 100 meter run and 200 meter run. The team of Chris Golv, Andy Olness, Jon Lien and Brian Jennissen won the 4x100 meter relay, and Olness and Golv finished one-two in the long jump. Taylor Lindeman placed third in both the shot put and the discus and Zach Hunter came in third in the 3200 meter run.
“We tried to move some things around a little bit,” said Wildcat head coach Ken Orwoll, “to get ready for our home meet and for the conference and section meets. For example, I tried Zach Hunter in the 300 meter hurdles and, while he didn’t place, he turned in the best time among our four entrants. It was nice to see Andy Olness compete and do well. Christian Swanberg had another great day. He’s been steady for us all year.”
The Wildcats hosted a seven-team meet Friday, May 5. We’ll report on that meet next week. They were schedule to participate in a True Team meet at North Branch Tuesday, May 9. And the conference meet begins Tuesday, May 16 at 4 p.m. at Robbinsdale Cooper in New Hope.
